Over the past number of years, I’ve been in business as Joules Resource Management, I’ve worked with lots of different teams on lots of different projects. I’ve been really pleased with how my approach and methodologies have driven the results these teams need to drive their businesses forward.

But I’ve also spotted a gap in my offering – mentoring. For me, mentoring is about the personal and professional growth of the mentee. It can be about providing a sounding board for ideas, developing skills, sharing the benefit of experience, accountability, and more. So, I’m excited to announce that I’ve now formally added mentoring to the list of services I offer here at JRM.

Why mentoring?

Finding the right mentor can be one of the most beneficial things you can do for your career and personal development. There’s plenty of research to back that up; here are just a few stats:

  • 87% of mentors and mentees say that their mentoring relationships make them feel empowered and assist them to develop a more prominent sense of confidence in themselves1
  • Mentees are 5x more likely to be promoted than those without a mentor2
  • 92% of small business owners with a mentor agree that it has directly impacted the growth and survival of their business.3

But it’s important to choose your mentor carefully. This in part will come down to personalities – do you both get on? Is there mutual respect? Are you both committed to this process? However, it can also be important to take into account the specifics of the role.

As an expert in Lean manufacturing, I think I can bring an extra level of support to people operating within this sphere. When you have challenges to share and work through, I’ll really be able to understand what you’re facing and work with you on finding solutions that are practical and well-considered, increasing your chances of success.

I love this kind of work. There’s no better feeling than helping someone on their journey and seeing them thrive so I’m really excited about what the next year may hold.
